Welcome to my web page. I am glad you have found me here on this side of the rainbow today and I hope you will find your stay here in OZ enjoyable. I have tried to organize this part of the  page so that you can easily find those things you are looking for without having a lot of technical jargon slammed at you and confusing you more than you may already be.

I have always loved the movie The Wizard of OZ and because my last name sounds like "OZ man", I have been called OZ or the Wizard for most of my life as the movie came out just before I was born. This page is has nothing to do with the movie at all other than the backgrounds and theme of the page is in the OZ vane.

This part of the page is  about audio in amateur radio, especially how it relates to what I call Enhanced Audio EA. In basic terms, EA is anything you are doing with your audio that makes it's quality better than it was when you started. It may be as simple as putting a better microphone on the transceiver, putting on a shock mount or wind screen or something more complex like adding external processing boxes.

Not everyone has the time, ability or money to do everything they would like to do to improve their audio or station, so sometimes us hams have to compromise. There is no magic box that is going to make you sound wonderful all the time. There is no brand of transceiver that is absolutely the best for all aspects of amateur radio audio. There are limitations on all equipment we put on the table.  What sounds good to one ham may not sound so good to another.

I don't intend to be insulting or over critical to anyone or group of hams working in audio today or in the past, but I do see many problems and may hams have asked for my advice. So please click on the link below to get a short write-up on what I see as problems and what we can do to get the best out of the audio equipment we have.

Please review the menu items on the left side of this page. By looking at the topics, you should be able to click and go to the subject you are interested in or are looking for more information on.

There really are other topics on this page other than audio related matter. You can now go to the Welcome page and select those other sections you may want to explorer.  You can click on many items on the page and go to places you may not expect, so give it a try. Especially try clicking on the OZ logo with your computer speakers turned up and listen to the music and pictures from here in the land of OZ. When you click there will be a dialogue box appear that asks you if you want to open or save the file, just say open and if you have a fairly fast connection you will get a great presentation with what the land of OZ is about. The file has been virus checked so it is safe to run on your computer and I think you will like it.
